Twitter Reactions: Rilee Rossuow, Shahnawaz Dahani star as Multan Sultans accelerate for final

Multan Sultans defeated the Islamabad United side by 28 runs in the Qualifier to book their place in the final of the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Chasing a target of 164, the Lahore Qalandars lost their 1st wicket with their scorecard reading 17.

After that, Kamran Ghulam and Fakhar Zaman put on a partnership of 30 runs for the 2nd wicket. But then, the Qalandars lost 2 quick wickets after that and were reduced to 48/3.

Harry Brook then gave company to Zaman, and the duo put on a fighting stand of 54 runs for the 4th wicket. The Sultans then scalped the big fish, as Fakhar Zaman was dismissed by David Willey in the 15th over of the innings for 63.

After that, it was only a matter of time, and the Sultans came out on top, as the Qalandars could only muster a total of 135/9 on the board. With the ball, Shahnawaz Dahani scalped 3 wickets, while  David Willey prized out 2 willow wielders.

Rillee Rossouw and Mohammad Rizwan help Multan Sultans to 163/2

Batting first, the Multan Sultans outfit posted a total of 163/2. Even though the Sultans lost Shan Masood early, Mohammad Rizwan and Aamer Azmat came together and stitched a partnership of 47 runs for the 2nd wicket.

And, after Azmat’s departure, Rilee Rossouw came in and bludgeoned a blistering 65* off just 42 deliveries, scoring his runs at a strike rate of over 150. Rossouw also put on an unbeaten partnership of 113 runs for the 3rd wicket with Rizwan.

Rizwan, on his part, scored a sedate 51-ball 53* for his side. Mohammad Hafeez and Samit Patel scalped one wicket each with the ball for the Lahore Qalandars outfit.
