There’s no stopping Yashasvi Jaiswal in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. He made his List A debut in the ongoing tournament, but hasn’t played like a rookie by any stretch of the imagination. At the age of 17, he is expected to have a bright future in the offing courtesy of his fearless approach while batting. In the first five innings, he already has 504 runs at an incredible average of 100.80.

On his List A debut versus Chhattisgarh, he got 44 and then followed it up with a 113 versus Goa. The southpaw succumbed to a failure against Karnataka in Bengaluru as he managed only 22 runs. However, the Mumbai batsman tormented the Kerala bowlers to amass 122 runs in the very next match. Jaiswal didn’t stop there and has now racked up his third List A ton versus Jharkhand.

Moreover, he converted it into a double century and kept stamping his authority in white-ball cricket at a very young age. On an excellent batting strip, Mumbai had no hesitation whatsoever to bat first after winning the toss and plundered 358 runs for the loss of three wickets in their 50 overs. Jaiswal and Aditya Tare put on a stand of 200 runs for the opening wicket in only 34.3 overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was in a different zone as he hammered 203 runs off 154 balls. His knock was laced with 17 boundaries and 12 colossal blows over the ropes. After Anukul Roy got rid of Tare for 78, Siddhesh Lad joined Jaiswal and the duo added 105 for the second wicket in 64 balls. Jaiswal was the more attacking off the two as Lad went at a strike-rate of around 100, scoring 32 off 30.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer chipped in with 31 off 14, but it was Jaiswal, who grabbed the limelight with his power-hitting. The opening batsman got out to Vivekanand Tiwari in the 50th over, but by then, he had already helped his team to the monstrous score. The knock left Twitterati in awe. The netizens couldn’t stop heaping praises and appreciation on the young India batsman.
