It is a Sunday, a public holiday in India and the crowd is having a wonderful time at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. The fans have come out in large numbers and the atmosphere in the stadium is electrifying. Local boy Ravichandran Ashwin has also prized out 3 wickets for his side, and the Chennai crowd is getting everything it asked for.

Now, Virat Kohli is one of the most popular cricketing superstars across the globe and garners support wherever he goes. The Indian skipper is one of the greatest batsmen of the modern era, and the crowds flock to the stadium to support Kohli.

And, during the second Day’s play, Kohli was seen indulging with the crowd. The Indian skipper was seen asking the crowd to ‘Whistle Podu’, and the entire stadium erupted as soon as Kohli indulged in his act of whistling. He also asked the crowd to turn up their volume a few notches higher, and the crowd obliged instantaneously, creating a surreal atmosphere in the stadium.

You can watch the video of the same below:

England batsmen struggle on Day 2

After the Indian side was bowled out for 329 in their first innings, the England batsmen struggled to get going on Day 2. The pitch is already showing signs of turn, the ball is bouncing, and it is indeed a challenge for the batsmen out in the middle.

None of the England batsmen have even managed to score 25 runs, and the visitors are tottering at 103/6, at the time of writing. Apart from Ashwin who scalped 3 wickets, Axar Patel, Ishant Sharna and Mohammed Siraj have taken a wicket each, to push England on the backfoot.

Axar Patel was the man who scalped the important wicket of Joe Root. To a ball that pitched on off stump, the England skipper went for his much-trusted sweep shot, but this time, only managed to get a top edge. Ashwin settled under the ball to complete an easy catch.

And, Ashwin bowled the delivery of the match thus far, to get rid of Ben Stokes. Ashwin flighted the ball on Stokes’ leg stump, Stokes tried to flick it, the ball turned sharply, beat Stokes’ outside edge and the off stump was dislodged. The Indian side is in complete control of the game, and in this situation, Kohli will surely be a very happy man.
