The Indian skipper Virat Kohli is undoubtedly among one of the most famous sportspersons around the world. He is a superstar and is followed around almost everywhere he goes, especially in India. The Delhi-born cricketer has now shifted his residence to Mumbai and currently lives there.

The Pro Kabaddi 2019 is in full swing and Kohli attended the opening day of the Mumbai leg. He was present in Worli on Saturday (27th July) where U Mumba beat Puneri Paltan comfortably while Jaipur Pink Panthers downed Bengal Warriors in a tight game.

Kohli was interviewed by Star Sports as well. When asked about who would be the seven players from his side that can form a kabaddi team, he brought it down to strength and athleticism. Thus, the Indian skipper named MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and KL Rahul in his seven.

“It requires a lot of strength and athleticism. So I would say, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Umesh Yadav. Umesh is really strong. Rishabh Pant as well. I would say Bumrah because he can really work on a toe-touch. One more… I am not even going to include myself because these guys are stronger and more athletic. The last one would be KL Rahul. That’s my seven,” Kohli was quoted saying to Star Sports who is the official broadcaster for the Pro Kabaddi League.

It’s no secret that Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni share a great camaraderie and have massive respect for each other. When quizzed about who could be a similar duo in kabaddi, Kohli named Rahul Chaudhari and Ajay Thakur as their equivalents.

“Rahul Chaudhari and Ajay Thakur. They have great camaraderie. So I think those two would be a direct copy of me and Mahi [Dhoni],” the Indian skipper was quoted saying.

Kohli is due to fly to the Caribbean for a full-fledged tour where India play three T20Is, three ODIs, and two Tests. He will first travel to Florida where the first two T20Is will be played before moving to the Caribbean islands for the rest of the tour.
