Match Details:

The North Group game in the Vitality T20 Blast 2019 will be played between Nottinghamshire and Durham at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The match starts at 6:30 PM local time (11:00 PM IST) (5:30 PM GMT).

This game will be live on Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club’s YouTube channel.

Preview:

Nottinghamshire will host Durham at the Trent Bridge in the last group match as they aim for a home quarter-final. Nottingham has earned 16 points from 13 matches thus far as they won six matches and another four points through washouts. They are currently levelled with Derbyshire who got the 16 points via seven wins. A win over Durham will see Notts finish in the top of the North Group.

If Lancashire goes down to Leicestershire, the Nottinghamshire team will have a chance of topping the Group. On the other hand, Durham spilt chances of a quarter-final. They have lost each of their last three completed matches including two narrow losses. Playing at home, the Durham team lost from situations where the required rate was around six as they collapsed in the last couple of overs.

Weather Condition/Report:

On Friday, we might see a higher temperature compared to the other days of the week in Nottingham. The Trent Bridge is expected to be under clear skies during the day. However, from 9:00 PM local time, there are possibilities of a drizzle. But a minimum number of overs to constitute a match will be finished by that time.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The pitches at the Trent Bridge in this T20 Blast haven’t been same as the ones we expect during ODIs. The tracks in this tournament tend to stay on the slower side. This is the reason why the chasing sides have struggled big-time whenever they got a 160+ target.

Average first innings score: 161 (Unaffected T20 Blast in 2019)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 1, Lost – 3

Top Picks:

Imad Wasim had a decent outings for the Nottinghamshire before he missed a couple of matches for his marriage. The slow tracks didn’t allow Daniel Christian to put him best. However, with the bat, he has amassed 119 runs from his last five matches without getting dismissed. Another Nottingham player Joe Clarke is probably the most trustable specialist batsman in this game. He has two fifties and an unbeaten 47 from his last five T20 Blast games.

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Captain – D’Arcy Short, Scott Steel, Joe Clarke, Imad Wasim

Vice-captain – Alex Hales, Peter Handscomb, Dan Christian, Liam Trevaskis

D’Arcy Short and his opener partner Scott Steel have ideal conditions in Trent Bridge to succeed with both bat and ball.

Expert Advice:

As many all-rounders as possible can be picked from this game due to inconsistency of the specialist batsmen in both teams. Moreover, the Trent Bridge has been helpful to spinners this season. Batsmen who are bowling a couple of overs of spin will be ideal.

Probable Winners:

Nottinghamshire is expected to defeat Durham.
