India’s 125-run defeat to England in the 3rd T20I stunned fans, as the team set new unwanted records with their poor batting display.
11.4 overs is the quickest India have ever been bowled out in a T20I. Previously, their shortest innings were 17.2 overs vs South Africa (2015) and 17.3 vs Australia (2008). This is the first time India has been dismissed in under 15 overs in a T20I.
For the first time in T20Is, India lost their first five wickets within six overs, slipping to 52/5 in five overs. Previously, they lost four wickets in the Powerplay 13 times, including twice in 2026.
India’s 76 in 11.4 overs is their second-lowest T20I total, behind 74 vs Australia in 2008. It’s also the lowest T20I score by any team in England, breaking Australia’s record of 79 in 2005.
India’s 125-run loss is their biggest defeat by runs in T20Is, and the first time they’ve lost by over 100 runs. The previous worst was an 80-run loss to New Zealand in 2019.
India are winless in their last five T20Is, their longest streak without a win in this format. Since Shreyas Iyer became captain, they’ve had four losses and one no-result. Their previous longest winless run was four games in 2021 and 2009.
Can India recover after this big setback, or will England keep exposing their weaknesses?
