Chris Morris who was once South Africa’s premium bowler will have to sit out for the major part of the World Cup. The Proteas currently have some of the best fast bowlers in the world such as Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi. No wonder this trio will walk into the playing XI on merit and Morris is possibly the backup for the all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo who is also coming into the tournament on the back of some good form.

Morris last played an ODI against India in 2018 and a decent show in the IPL has led to getting called up after Anrich Nortje got injured. The talented all-rounder might have to wait for his chances and one feels his chances would be very few at the event this time around.
