3 T20 captains that fans may have forgotten
There have been many players whose captaincy in T20I cricket went unnoticed.
2. Stuart Broad
Stuart Broad has gone on to emerge as one of England’s best and most consistent pacers in Test cricket with over 500 scalps to his name. He sacrificed his limited-overs career in order to completely focus on the longest format which has reaped dividends. However, when it comes to the senior pacer’s T20I career, the first thing that could possibly come to a cricket lover’s mind is him getting clobbered for six sixes in an over by Yuvraj Singh during a T20 World Cup 2007 match.
However, it is to be noted that Broad has also led the Three Lions from the front in the shortest format. In fact, the modern-day red-ball specialist has led England in 27 T20Is between 2011 to 2014 and was the captain of the English team in the 2012 and 2014 editions of the T20 World Cup.
In the four years of his captaincy tenure, Stuart Broad has led England to 11 victories and 15 defeats with a winning percentage of 42.30%.
