Now, some fans may not like the prediction that Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has had a stellar record in T20 cricket for the last few years, may not be considered for the next year’s tournament. But, there is more than what meets the eye. It is true that he is an excellent white-ball bowler and has been protected quite well as far as planning and injury goes.

However, it should also be said that he has had an incredible dip in form in the last six months. Some of that has to be attributed to the fact that he has had few injuries which didn’t allow him to keep himself in regular shape. On top of that, fans should also point out that since the pandemic started, he has never really played regular cricket.

For a bowler, it is more than important as it helps them keep their rhythm in check. Now, having said that, let’s go back a few years. Despite being India’s frontline pacer in the lead-up to the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, Bhuvi played only one match. The conditions allow for the bowlers who have a natural instinct of hitting the deck hard.

This could be another reason why India looks for players like T Natarajan, for left-arm variety, or Mohammed Siraj, for pace, bounce, and sideways movement, which can be extracted from the Australian pitches.
