The Punjab Kings (PBKS) have been famous for having a complete overhaul in every mega auction. They generally don’t retain too many of their players and tend to buy new players. This has always backfired for them.

The last mega auction in 2018 saw PBKS (then named KXIP) bid for almost every player. While they occasionally do assemble a good team, there seems to be no clarity and players tend to play without any assurance of their future in the franchise. This time, however, Punjab do have a good core of players.

They should ideally retain players like KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Mohammed Shami and could possibly even use their RTM for someone like Nicholas Pooran. Hence, PBKS should avoid having a complete overhaul in the mega auction in 2022.
