5 famous idiosyncrasies in cricket
Most of these idiosyncrasies are hardcoded into the minds of cricketers and are something which is not done intentionally at all times.
5. Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar, one of the all-time greatest to have played the sport, had his own set of idiosyncrasies and superstitions. While his superstitions are very famous, his famous idiosyncracies often go unnoticed or there isn’t much attention paid. The highest run scorer in Tests and ODIs has got a set of rituals that he usually followed during his playing days.
(i) Sachin had the habit of holding his helmet as he looked around the field. He also used to hold his bat with both his hands pointing in skywards before facing the delivery. Then, he has the habit of ducking a little to adjust his cricket gear. The ‘Master Blaster‘ did this quite often, almost before every delivery that he faced.
Also, after playing a delivery, he used to walk down the track and tap the area of the pitch where the ball was bowled. Sachin used to rotate his shoulder at times as he was just about to face a ball, i.e. when the bowler was in his run-up.
