The 2021 T20 World Cup is all set to get underway in a few months and fans around the world would be super excited to witness the mega event. Talking of the big cricketing events, the World Cup sits at the top spot. The next edition of the World Cup would be played in 2023 and cricketing giants would have already pulled their socks up to put up the best show. Though the whole Indian lot wouldn’t undergo a change, one can definitely expect some young lads to take the responsibility for the team. The players that are still being groomed to shine at the international level might be able to produce big for the team. The players who have flaunted class in IPL or domestic circuit may get a call-up and get to present their show. There will also be players who will ace the job of finishers for India. (Photo Source: Khabribabu) Riyan Parag is one name that is impressing the cricket fraternity from the 2019 edition of IPL. He has essayed the finisher’s job for the Rajasthan franchise on more than one occasion and will only continue to get better in times to come. In IPL 2019, he became the youngest cricketer in the history of the league to smash a half-century while being only 17-year-old. The young player is skilled enough to get ready for the big platform as he has also shown his class in the domestic circuit in recent years. He marked his T20 debut with the Assam team and marked his debut in first-class cricket for his home team in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy. In 2017 only, he got named in India’s 2018 U-19 World Cup team. He also turned out to be the highest run-getter of the Assam team in the 2017-18 Vijay Hazare Trophy with 249 runs in just seven games. 2. Shahrukh Khan Shahrukh Khan. (Photo Source: TNPL) Khan was roped in by the Punjab Kings franchise ahead of the IPL 2021 auction owing to his top-class show in the 2021 edition of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He led Tamil Nadu to win the title and grabbed attention with his unbeaten 41 off 19 against Himachal Pradesh in the quarter-finals. Not many would know but Khan grabbed stardom in the early part of his life as well as he impressed all in the junior Chennai Super Kings tournament in 2012. It was the inaugural edition of the talent hunt conducted by CSK and Khan was adjudged as the best all-rounder. Later, he went on to mark his Ranji Trophy debut in 2018-19 season. He seems capable enough to shoulder responsibilities for India if groomed well in time. In IPL 2021, he did fairly well but would need to strengthen his skills further to prepare for the 2023 World Cup. 3. Deepak Hooda Deepak Hooda. He has been associated with several IPL franchises so far with PBKS being his current one. He bagged attention in IPL in his very first season with RR while flaunting class against Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals now). His standout performance in first-class cricket came when he smashed his first double century in the fourth round of the 2016-17 Ranji season for Baroda Hooda was even named in India’s T20I squad for the 2018 Nidahas Trophy but couldn’t get the chance to be in XI. He his already on the ladder and a little bit of grooming and practice can surely land him into significant spots for India soon. 4. Anuj Rawat Anuj Rawat. (Photo Source: Twitter) Anuj Rawat can be India’s next big wicketkeeping batsman as he continues to upgrade his skills day by day. The Uttarakhand boy marked his first-class debut for Delhi in 2017-18 Ranji Trophy and went on mark his T20 debut in the subsequent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The young man turned heads while he was named as captain of India’s U-19 team by Rahul Dravid. He was roped in by Rajasthan Royals in 2020 IPL auction and got to play his first and only game in 2021. He still has a long way to go and shine on the grand stage for India but his records are impressive enough to get him going. In 19 first-class games, he has 925 runs to his credit averaging 34.25 including two tons and three half-centuries. In 20 T20s, he has 334 runs in his account. 5. Chezhian Harinishanth Chezhian Harinishanth. (Photo Source: Twitter) Harinishant was snapped by the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the 2021 IPL auction due to his recent exploits in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. He was part of the winning Tamil Nadu squad and smashed 246 runs in the season at an average of 41. He also played a vital innings of 35 runs in the finale. He marked his first-class debut in 2019 for his home team in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy. He might be the next big finisher for India in making. Though India is currently equipped with some of the best finishers like Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja, Harinishanth might become a reserved choice for the team in 2023 World Cup if he continues his impressive work on the field.
