A player who has been in and out of the Indian team right through his career. On some instances it was due to a dip in form and on others it was his luck that did not work in his favour. A roller coaster ride of a journey, Dinesh Karthik has seen it all through the 16 years that he has been associated with the Indian National Cricket team.

He was a part of 152 international matches across all the three formats. And, in those matches, he managed to accumulate over 3000 runs and played some crucial innings getting the team through tough situations. A safe pair of hands behind the wicket which he developed over the years, Karthik gave his hundred per cent every time he stepped on the field and did what the team wanted him to do in the given situation. One of his most celebrated remains innings remains the one he played in the Final of the Nidahas Trophy in 2018, where rescued the Indian team from the jaws of a loss.

With the new selectors coming in and him not playing in the Indian team regularly could lead to him not getting selected to play at the highest level again. Adding to this is the fact that the newer faces in the wicket-keeping department have been doing well, making his comeback an even more challenging task.
