5 times when cricketers had weird conversations on Twitter
There are times when players find themselves in the middle of a bizarre conversation with fans or other players.
3. Ross Taylor’s hilarious response to Virender Sehwag’s darji comment
The first One Day International between India and New Zealand in Mumbai in October 2017 saw the visitors registering a stunning victory courtesy of Ross Taylor. During the game, Taylor launched an assault on the Indian bowlers as he stitched a 200-run partnership with Tom Latham to help Black Caps chase a massive total of 281 runs.
India’s veteran opener Virender Sehwag seemed impressed with Taylor’s exploits but didn’t fail to take a sly dig with his one-liners. In his tweet, Sehwag referred to the Kiwi batter with the Hindi meaning of his last name, darji. “Well played @RossLTaylor Darji ji. Great effort after handling the pressure of Diwali orders,” wrote Sehwag’s tweet.
However, it was Taylor who stole the thunder as instead of letting the joke pass, he stunned Sehwag by replying in Hindi. “Thanks @virendersehwag bhai agli Baar Apna order time pe Bhej dena so Mai Apko agli Diwali ke pehle deliver kardunga ….happy Diwali,” was the unexpected response by the Kiwi star.
The conversation didn’t stop here as the two continued to converse on Twitter. The entire episode acted as entertainment for the fans.
