Paarl Rocks led by South African skipper Faf du Plessis won the Mzansi Super League 2019 after finishing as the table toppers with 6 victories in 10 games. Opener Henry Davids stroked the fastest fifty of the season in the final and remained unbeaten for a 44 ball 77. Dwaine Pretorius returning from an injury made a quick-fire 43 of 21 balls.

Davids was the man of the match in the final and scored a total of 275 runs at an average of 30 with a strike rate of 135. South African leg-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament taking 16 wickets, just one behind Imran Tahir.

No South Africa-based team has won the Champions league- Warriors and Highveld Lions have reached the finals in 2010 and 2012, respectively. Paarl Rocks have a good core of white-ball specialists like Isuru Udana, Bjorn Fortuin, Hardus Viljoen, Henry Davids and Tabraiz Shamsi which makes them a team to watch out for.
