Anil Kumble will receive a salary of 6.25 crore per year

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to pay Rs 6.25 crore per year to Anil Kumble for being the head coach for the Indian national cricket team. The remuneration was decided at the finance committee meeting on Monday morning, which was later approved by the working committee. The payment is almost 75 lakh less than what Ravi Shastri was receiving, but a BCCI member explained that the higher income for Shastri was also for the commentary duty he was doing during the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. Meanwhile, Gary Kirsten and Duncan Fletcher were receiving between Rs 3-4 crores in their stint with the Indian team. Earlier, Lodha committee has asked BCCI to file a compliance report by August 25 and to implement the recommendations by October 15. But this doesn’t seem to happen as BCCI will tell the Lodha panel that the board is awaiting the decision on its review petition on the apex verdict. After its working committee meeting in New Delhi yesterday, “We have already filed a review petition. The state associations have been supplied with the document given to us by the three-member committee,” Anurag Thakur, the BCCI president said. The ACC asked about the possible implications of such interference,” Thakur said and revealed that the AGM will be held on September 21. North-East states will not be part of Ranji Trophy: BCCI has also informed that the schedule for the Ranji Trophy season will be announced soon and the North-East states will not be part of it, as they will be asked to feature in the tournament for the associates and affiliates.
