Playing at home, Bangladesh was expected to beat Zimbabwe given how the competition has shaped up in the last few years. Their win in the 2nd ODI by 7 wickets was quite comprehensive and with that they crushed any hopes the Zimbabweans had of winning a series on their soil. It is a dead rubber in Chittagong, however, 3-0 definitely looks a lot better and will motivate Mashrafe and team to go full throttle.

Hamilton Masakadza needs a lot more than motivation to propel his team to excel. The likes of Brendan Taylor, Sikandar Raza being the senior batsmen in the team have to take up the responsibility and pull it through. It is a good batting wicket and thus will not make a lot of difference who wins the toss.

Pitch and weather

The weather at this time of the year in Bangladesh is good for cricket. Chittagong has no forecast for rain but dew will definitely come into the picture. As the game progresses bowling for the spinners will become difficult and thus chasing should be easier.

Playing combinations

Bangladesh

The hosts have developed a pretty reliable combination in these conditions. The fact that Liton Das and Imrul Kayes at the top have fired has made life easier for the rest who follow in the line-up. Fazel Mahmud playing his first series will want to trouble the scorers this time, he has two ducks to his name after the initial two games of his international career.

The bowling attack is in decent shape as well led by Mustafizur Rahman, Mohammad Saifuddin and Mehidy Hasan have three wickets haul in either games. Mahmadullah is yet to add value with the bat but has certainly delivered the expected with his bowling.

Predicted XI: Liton Das, Imrul Kayes, Fazle Mahmud, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mohammad Mithun, Mahmudullah, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mashrafe Mortaza (C), Mustafizur Rahman, Nazmul Islam

Zimbabwe

For Zimbabwe, it is a matter of stitching together a team performance. Thus far it has been the case that either the bowling or batting unit has come to the party but the other hasn’t. Sean Williams scored a half century and missed out on one in the other game but he should also aim to convert. It is of supreme importance that those who get a start carry on and the rest revolve around him.

Similarly in the bowling attack while Kyle Jarvis picked up four and Tendai Chatara got three in the first ODI it was just Raza who bagged all the three wickets that fell in the 2nd ODI. Better consistency there will also push the team towards success against a much better opposition that Bangladesh is.

Predicted XI: Hamilton Masakadza (C), Cephas Zhuwao, Brendan Taylor (wk), Sean Williams, Peter Moor, Elton Chigumbura, Sikandar Raza, Donald Tiripano, Brandon Mavuta, Kyle Jarvis, Tendai Chatara

Probable Top Performers

Mahmudullah (Bangladesh) | Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe)

The prediction is for Bangladesh to win the match and claim the series 3-0.
