Rivalries between batsmen and bowlers will come and go but the one that Sachin Tendulkar and Shoaib Akhtar will be remembered for every. One the fastest bowler on the planet, the other easily the greatest batsman of the generation. Akhtar when asked about an on-field moment he would cherish throughout revealed that cleaning Tendulkar up for a duck was the best feeling in the world.

Rawalpindi Express also expressed his feelings for Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Imran Khan. The incident occurred at a jam-packed Eden Gardens Stadium at Kolkata where Akhtar silenced the crowd after dismissing Dravid and Tendulkar in successive deliveries. He dismissed Rahul Dravid with a ferocious in-swinging yorker to uproot the leg stump of ‘the wall’.

Next to bat, Sachin faced a similar delivery and the ball took the middle stump of the Master Blaster with itself. “Getting Tendulkar out for a duck in India, that feeling is just unmatched, especially in front of their crowd,” said the retired Pakistani speedster in an interview with Geo TV. On being asked about the controversial statement he made in his biography about Tendulkar being afraid of him, Akhtar stated that no one in this world is afraid of any bowler.

He later mentioned about the time Viv Richards revealed the fact that the great West Indian expressed that he’d be dead scared to face the bowler. “I asked the great Sir Viv Richards, ‘would you be scared if I bowled to you’? He said, ‘of course I’d be scared, I’d be dead scared,” described the former fast bowler.

Akhtar was further asked about the best captain he played under. He mentioned the name of Wasim Akram and Imran Khan.”It would also have been great if I could have played during Imran Khan’s era,” replied 41-year old. Akhtar later revealed that he has no intentions of joining the politics or the coaching in the near future but would want to continue anchoring. “I have no intentions to join the board or politics,” he said.

Shoaib concluded that he has no grudges against Waqar and Shahid Afridi for being dropped in the semi-finals of the World Cup 2011 at Mohali and believes it was Pakistan’s loss and not his loss. He claimed that Pakistan would have steamrolled Sri Lanka in final to lift the World Cup, provided they defeated India in his presence.
