Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun has been lauded for his work with the Indian pace bowlers in the past two-three years. The Indian cricket team has now got one of the best fast bowling attacks in the world across formats and one of the main contributors to this rise is the bowling coach.

He has groomed Jasprit Bumrah to become a potent force in the world of cricket. The Indian team, for the first time in its history, is being recognized as a fast bowling power with the likes of Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and other in the ranks. They have the ability to deliver at home and away with the white ball as well as the red ball.

The Indian team’s bowling coach makes the boys sweat at the nets, focuses on specific areas. Importantly, he fetches the results and thus the Men in Blue are currently viewed as one of the top contenders of winning the ICC World Cup 2019 in England and Wales and one of the reasons that earns them prime contention is the fast bowling firepower that the team possesses at the moment.

One of the best fast bowling attacks

Arun knows that Indian pace attack is among the best and the way they bowled in the England Test series in 2018, that experience will be helpful in India’s campaign in the mega event.

“In Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar, India has two of the best ODI bowlers in world cricket. And Shami, with his speed and movement, can win you games. India has a formidable pace pack. And it is backed by a very good spin attack,” Arun was quoted as saying by Sportstar.

He also addressed the injury of the all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has been out of commission with a back injury he sustained in the Asia Cup and which caused stiffness in his back after the New Zealand series, ruling him out of the Australia limited-overs series at home.

“We rested him as a precautionary measure. He doesn’t have a fracture of the back, only a back spasm. It can be monitored and set right. He should be fit,” Arun further said.

Vijay Shankar adds value to the Indian bowling attack

One of the best things that happened to the Indian team in the last few months is the addition of Vijay Shankar to the mix in the absence of Pandya. Shankar has shown immense maturity to play at no.4 in New Zealand and even his bowling has come a long way. Bharat Arun feels that Shankar’s bowling is an addition to an already formidable Indian attack.

“He is bowling at around 130 kmph now. He’s a big lad and is capable of bowling at 135 kmph. I wanted him to bowl straight, try and hit the stumps all the time and he’s doing that. He is a good addition to the team,” he further stated.

“We are very confident. This is a very good Indian team that will be going to the World Cup,” Arun signed off saying.
