Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat are set to lock horns in Match No.2 of the Big Bash League 2021-22 at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. The Thunder will be led by Chris Green in the absence of Usman Khawaja, who’s busy playing in the Ashes. They have also roped in Arjun Nair for Brendan Doggett.

In the previous season, they lost to the Heat in the Knockout and got eliminated. The Heat, on the other hand, have already named a 14-man squad for the upcoming game. They progressed quite a bit in the previous season before losing to the Perth Scorchers in the Challenger at the same venue.

Probable top performers

Alex Hales- Sydney Thunder

Alex Hales was arguably the standout batter for the Thunder in the previous edition of the BBL. In 15 matches, the right-hander smashed 543 runs at an average of 38.78 and a strike rate of 161.60. He also notched one century and three half-centuries. If he gets going, the Heat bowlers may find themselves in trouble.

Tanveer Sangha- Sydney Thunder

Tanveer Sangha was exceptional for the Thunder in the previous edition of the BBL. In 15 matches, the leg-spinner picked up 21 wickets at an economy rate of 8.08. In fact, he was the leading wicket-taker for his team in the tournament. The Heat batters need to play him with utmost caution.
