8. Adil Rashid – England
Coming in to the tournament, English leggie Adil Rashid was not even sure of a spot in the playing eleven. He was not a regular face in the starting eleven of the English side in the ODI series leading up to the Champions Trophy. However, come the big tournament, the team beckoned the services of the big spinner.
Rashid finished as the leading wicket taker among all the spinners in the tournament. There was absolutely nothing on offer for the spinners but Rashid finished as the fifth leading wicket taker in the tournament. He finished with 7 wickets to his name in the 3 matches that he played. He bowled with an economy of 4.73 and had the best figures of 4/41.
