Is this becoming a trend in Indian cricket to take on questions put ahead of them in a media conference and turn them up for the journalists to answer? After watching Indian skipper MS Dhoni do it for quite some time now, his mate Suresh Raina seems to have taken a leaf out of MS Dhoni’s book as he gave a quirky answer when he was asked in a press conference of his new IPL team Gujarat Lions whether the Indian team should opt for an Indian or a foreign coach.

Raina answered it saying, “Are you comfortable with your own wife or someone else?”

The entire media present in the room broke into laughter hearing Raina’s reply. Following which the left-hander said that appointing the coach is BCCI’s job and he would be happy to play under any coach the board appoints for the team.

Raina said, “I am a player. I have to utilise what I get on the plate. Everybody knows their responsibility. Playing for the country for the last 11 years, I think I know what I have to do with my body, what I have to do on the field. So I think it’s all professionalism and how you go about it,”

The questions over the coach have been doing rounds since team Director Ravi Shastri’s contract concluded with the end of team India’s World T20 campaign and the BCCI now has the big task at hand of finding a new full-time coach.
