Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be up against each other in the 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Both teams have had a similar start to their campaign in the ongoing tournament. Both teams lost the first match of their campaign away from home. In their second match, which took place at their respective home grounds, both teams managed to make a comeback and register a win. The only difference is that RCB lost their previous game.

Against 'Arch rivals' Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), RCB suffered a humiliating loss. Batting first, the home side managed to score 182 runs. KKR chased down the target with ease and won the match by 7 wickets with 20 balls to spare. The match between RCB and LSG will take place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The home side would be hoping to return to winning ways after suffering a huge loss in their previous match. They do have some concerns in their lineup, which might be addressed in the game against LSG.

On the other hand, LSG will be flying high with their recent win against PBKS. The Lucknow-based franchise unearthed a terrific talent in the game in the form of Mayank Yadav for whom there seems to be no limit to the pace. The right-arm pacer bowled a deadly spell where none of his deliveries clocked below a pace of 140 kmph. Apart from him, LSG has some of the best players in the world, who will have to go against some of the best players in the dugout of RCB.

Here is the predicted XI of RCB for their game against LSG for Match 15:

Openers - Faf Du Plessis (C) and Virat Kohli

Faf Du Plessis will continue to open the innings for RCB. After giving a brisk start with the bat for RCB against CSK, the star batter has not been able to fire with the bat in the last two matches. The RCB skipper would be hoping to be back amongst runs come the game against LSG. The home ground would be the best for him to fire, where the bowlers tend to struggle due to the flat wicket and small boundaries.

Virat Kohli will be the opening partner of Faf Du Plessis. Compared to Faf, Kohli has had a contrasting journey in the league. The star batter struggled against CSK in the first game but has been back amongst runs since then. He has scored 181 runs in three innings at a fantastic batting average of 90.50, showing glimpses of what he can do as a batter in the shorter format. He would be key for RCB against LSG.

Middle Order - Rajat Patidar, Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat, and Mahipal Lomror (Impact substitute)

In the middle order, RCB has some very good options. Rajat Patidar has not lived up to the expectations in the last few months. The right-handed batter did not have a good series against England and has not been able to fire for RCB. He would be hoping to make an impact against LSG. In the lower middle order, RCB has the prowess of Dinesh Karthik who has been phenomenal so far as a batter.

His scores in the three matches have been 38*(26), 28*(10), and 20(8). To follow him would be Anuj Rawat, who played a key role for RCB in the game against CSK. He is handy with the gloves and can keep the wickets decently. RCB also has Mahipal Lomror lower down the order as the impact substitute. With his finishing, the Southpaw won the match for RCB against PBKS. They form a great lower middle order.

All-Rounders - Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell

In the All-Rounders department, RCB has two great Australian options, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green. both the players are capable of winning the matches on their own with the bat. In addition to it, they can chip in with some overs and be handy in the middle-overs phase. They have the ability to claim wickets and break partnerships. However, they need to step up with the bat.

In the last game, they did bat well with crucial cameos. But with the abilities the two possess and the performances they have at the highest level, the management would be hoping for them to play big knocks. In the last session, both of them were brilliant for their respective teams. Even at the highest level, they have good stats for Australia. It is time for the duo to convert their starts into big knocks to help RCB win matches.

Bowlers - Mayank Dagar, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammad Siraj, and Vijaykumar Vyshak

With the ball, RCB has a mix of different kinds of bowlers. Mohammad Siraj is likely to continue with the new ball. The star bowler needs to be better with the ball, as he has been smashed by the batters in two of the three matches. To assist him at the top is likely to be Lockie Ferguson, who might replace Alzarri Joseph in the XI. As the Caribbean pacer has gone expensive in all three matches, the Kiwi pacer might come in his place.

In the middle overs phase, RCB will have the pace-spin duo of Vijaykumar Vyshak and Mayank Dagar. In the last few matches, taking pace off has worked at M Chinnaswamy stadium. Vyshak was the bowler who realized and executed it well. Dagar with his spin bowling can be accurate in the middle overs. In the death overs, Siraj and Lockie might return to bowl. RCB has part-time options like Green and Maxwell to bowl too.

RCB Predicted XI: Faf Du Plessis (C), Virat Kohli, Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar, Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat (WK), Mayank Dagar, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammad Siraj, Vijaykumar Vyshak

Impact substitute - Mahipal Lomror
