4 teams that ended their title drought in last five years
Let us take a look at four teams that have broke the 'chokers' tag and triumphed in the last five years.
1. South Africa
South Africa last tasted ICC glory in the 1998 Champions Trophy, and despite several close calls over the years, including a heartbreaking loss to India in the 2024 T20 World Cup final, they were often labeled 'chokers' for faltering at the final hurdle.
But, they broke it in 2025. In a turnaround, the Proteas defeated Australia in the ICC World Test Championship Final at Lord’s, ending a 27-year wait for an ICC title. The victory marked a defining moment in South African cricket history.
