Over the years, several teams have showcased immense talent throughout tournaments and ultimately lifted the coveted trophy. However, some teams, despite coming close, fell short at the final hurdle, earning the label of 'chokers' for repeatedly failing in crucial moments, whether in ICC events or T20 leagues. In recent years, though, a few of the teams have finally broken the curse. Here, let us take a look at four teams that have broke the 'chokers' tag and triumphed in the last five years.
Here are the four teams that ended their title drought in last five years:
4. New Zealand

New Zealand last tasted ICC success in the 2000 Champions Trophy, and for over two decades, they came heartbreakingly close to glory. They reached the final of the 2015 ODI World Cup to be defeated by Australia, and suffered another loss in the 2019 final against England in a Super Over finish.
However, the long wait finally ended in 2021. In the inaugural ICC World Test Championship Final, the Black Caps triumphed over India in Southampton, lifting their second ICC trophy after 21 years and wrote their legacy on the world stage.
