4. KC Cariappa
KC Cariappa has been a proven performer in Indian domestic circles. The leg-spinner is a typical T20 bowler with many variations up his sleeve. In the 2021-22 season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the 28-year-old spun the web around the opposition and took 12 wickets in nine games at a phenomenal economy of 5.63.
Cariappa has been around the IPL circuit since 2015 but has not been able to light up the tournament with his bowling displays. In the 11 games, he has picked eight scalps an economy of 9.67. The Rajasthan franchise roped in the Karnataka spinner at the 2022 mega auction to add variety to their spin attack.
However, amid veteran Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, the Bangalore-born was never in the reckoning to feature in the starting XI.
The Rajasthan spin attack is in great hands and Carriapa might not get a game going ahead as well. The think tank might let go of the spinner as he can offer a lot to any other side low in spin reserves in the seasons to follow.
