IPL: Top 5 best bowling performances for SRH
With a few weeks left for the 2024 IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fans can bring cheers to their faces with the five best bowling performances of their team.
1. Rashid Khan’s 3/19 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2018
Afghanistan stalwart Rashid Khan looked outstanding with the ball for SRH in 2018. The leggie’s best performance in the season came against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the second Qualifier played at the iconic Eden Gardens. Riding on his effective all-round service, the 2016 IPL champions beat Knight Riders by 14 runs.
Batting first in the marquee game, SRH posted 174 runs on the board in 20 overs, with Wriddhiman Saha’s 35 (27), Shikhar Dhawan’s 34 (24), and Rashid Khan’s 34 (10). After the superb batting show, Rashid came heavily on KKR with the ball. In the 11th over of the innings, the leggie cleaned up Robin Uthappa, who was batting on two.
In his next over, the Afghan player picked up Australia batter Chris Lynn, who was in great touch. After claiming two crucial wickets, Rashid sent Andre Russell to the pavilion for only three. The West Indies all-rounder’s scalp cleared SRH’s way for the final. In 20 overs, Kolkata could amass only 160 runs, and Hyderabad qualified for the final with a 14-run win.
