Shakib Al Hasan is the finest all-rounder Bangladesh cricket has ever produced. Be it with the bat or ball, the 35-year-old has proven his mettle in the international arena time and time again. Talking about the shortest format, the southpaw has amassed 2243 runs in 109 T20I matches at a strike rate of 121.76 and bagged 128 wickets at a stellar economy of 6.83.

Shakib has also showcased his all-round prowess in the Indian Premier League. The veteran all-rounder has featured in 71 games in the lucrative T20 tournament and scored 793 runs at a strike rate of 124.49. On the bowling front, he has picked 63 scalps at an economy of 7.44.

5. KKR vs RR, Match 15, 2012

Kolkata Knight Riders locked horns with Rajasthan Royals in the 15th match of IPL 2012.  After opting to bat, Rahul Dravid & co. got off to a solid start and were 45 for no loss in six overs. KKR needed to break the opening stand and skipper Gautam Gambhir brought Shakib into the attack. 

The Bangladesh all-rounder made an impact straight away, getting rid of Ajinkya Rahane in the very first ball of his spell. Shakib, in his next over he sent Dravid back to the hut. The Magura-born again weaved his magic at the fag end of the innings and dismissed a well-set Shreevats Goswami. The left-arm spinner finished the innings with impeccable figures of 4-0-17-3.

Courtesy of the ace all-rounder’s sensational bowling display Rajasthan were restricted to 131 runs in 20 overs. Chasing 132, Shakib played a crucial cameo of 16 runs off ten deliveries to help his side get over the line. The southpaw was adjudged Player of the Match for his superb all-round performance.
