The mega T20 league could’ve been a career-changing opportunity for Sabbneni Meghana. The 26-year-old opening batter got a chance to feature in Gujarat Giants playing XI in six matches. With Beth Mooney’s unavailability due to a calf strain, the team management was expecting her to fire up the order with the bat.

Under the guidance of renowned international players such as Laura Wolvaardt, Ashleigh Gardner, and Harleen Deol, her role was to reinforce her team’s batting line-up but the 26-year-old looked completely out of colour. With only 81 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 100.00, she emerged as one of the poor performers for the team.

Out of her six innings in the tournament, she got dismissed on single-digit scores thrice. Against the bowling attacks of Mumbai Indians (MI), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), she looked completely helpless throwing away her wicket early into the innings, after being subjected to pressure.
