England will take on India in Semi-Final 2 of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, March 05

England played a tactical brand of cricket in the prestigious event. The team finished second in Group C, winning three out of four games. Their wins came against Nepal, Scotland, and Italy, respectively. Their sole defeat came at the hands of the West Indies by 30 runs in their second league game in Mumbai. However, the Harry Brook-led team topped their Super Eight Group, winning all three of their games. The Three Lions will be highly confident and hope to defeat India on their home turf.

On the other hand, the Indian team became the fourth team to enter the semis. In the group stage, the Men in Blue had an unbeaten run, registering four wins. Although their Super Eight campaign began on a losing note at the hands of South Africa. However, the Suryakumar Yadav-led team made their way to the knockout phase with back-to-back wins. The defending champions will look to repeat what they did in the last World Cup semi-final against the same opponent and qualify for the Finals.

Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Pitch Report

The pitch at the Wankhede Stadium is known to be a batting-friendly surface. With short boundaries and a flat surface, batters can play their shots freely as the ball comes nicely onto the bat. Fast bowlers may find some movement in the early overs, but conditions generally favour batting as the match progresses. If England bat first, they will be well placed to post a high total.

ENG vs IND Probable Best Performers

Probable Best Batter: Suryakumar Yadav

Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav could be the best batter in the 2nd Semi-Final against England. The right-hander is currently India's leading run-getter with 231 runs in seven games. The veteran has been in decent form and will aim to put in another good showing for his team. Surya will be excited to return to his home ground and score runs freely

Probable Best Bowler: Jasprit Bumrah

The right-arm ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah might be the trump card for the Men in Blue. He has already bagged nine wickets in the tournament and will look to maintain his momentum in their semi-final game. Bumrah is coming off a brilliant performance against the West Indies in what was called a virtual quarter-final and will be hoping to once again pick wickets at regular intervals.
