Veteran Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane and Bollywood superstar Salman Khan came together to support an initiative by the Sneh Asha Foundation at the Rangsharda Auditorium in Bandra West. The initiative deals with transforming lives through education and technology, with the foundation announcing 10 new state-of-the-art computer labs across BMC and TMC schools and inducting 12 students into its flagship scholarship programme.

The event, held on June 20, was attended by over 800 people, including government officials, corporate leaders, educationists, and philanthropists. Rahane, who was delighted to join the movement, shared his thoughts on empowering young students.

'When education meets opportunity, the future shines. Honoured to be part of a meaningful initiative by Sneh Asha Foundation, empowering 15,000+ students with access to technology and education. Grateful to share the moment with Hon’ble Minister @ShelarAshish ji, @BeingSalmanKhan , @N_Hiranandani , @SJaiswal_IAS , and other dignitaries working towards a brighter tomorrow," he wrote on X.

Salman Khan awards medals and personalized gifts

Bollywood actor Salman Khan awarded medals and personalised gifts to the scholarship recipients and donated 30 brand-new laptops to the Foundation. The event also witnessed the inauguration of 10 high-tech computer labs, housing over 600 high-performance systems. These labs are set to directly benefit more than 15,000 students from Grades 6 to 10. The centres are designed to teach students a wide range of digital skills, from basic computer literacy to advanced concepts like coding, AI, and data analysis.

The occasion also marked the celebration of Batch 3 of the Sneh Asha Scholarship Programme. This initiative supports students from underserved communities with comprehensive aid, including coaching, college fees, mentorship, laptops, and career guidance. The scholars are nurtured under three tailored tracks, Saraswati (for Class 10 toppers), Shakti (graduation), and Laxmi (post-graduation).
