Former England spinner Monty Panesar shared an Instagram story featuring what seems to be a picture from his wedding with Subrina Johal. Panesar, 43, had previously been married to Gursharan Rattan, who was a pharmacist. He was 31 years old at the time of his divorce from Rattan.
Johal posted the wedding photo on Instagram and captioned it with: "And just like that... onto the next chapter." Panesar shared the story on his official Instagram profile and wrote: "My missing piece." Not much information is available on the internet about Panesar's newlywed wife. On her 'X' (formerly Twitter) handle, it can be seen that she resides in Leicester, England and is the Principal at Orchard Mead Academy, which inspires its students to work hard, be kind and responsible.
Panesar made his England debut in 2006 in the longest format against India at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground. In the following year, he earned his maiden caps in the two white-ball formats in international cricket.
Panesar played 50 Tests, 26 ODIs, and a solitary T20I during his international career. He finished with 167 wickets in Tests, 24 in ODIs, and two in T20Is. His standout performance came during England's tour of India in 2012-13. In three matches, he accounted for 17 wickets. This includes two five-wicket hauls. England won the series 2-1 after their spinners outbowled their Indian counterparts.
The Luton-born played his last international game against Australia in December 2013. His final appearance in County cricket came in 2016 when he represented Northamptonshire. Previously, he also played for Sussex and Essex. In England, he has also played for the Lions in South Africa. Last year, the left-arm spinner appeared for the England Masters in the International Masters League.
Effort should be the standard, not praised: Anderson
Panesar, who is now a cricket expert, shares his opinion on different topics in the sport. He recently backed Ravi Shastri to replace Brendon McCullum as England's head coach after the Three Lions were overwhelmed by Australia in the latest instalment of the Ashes.
