Widely regarded as 'The Wall', the incumbent head coach of team India Rahul Dravid, who is known for his serious conduct on and off the field left commentator Harsha Bhogle puzzled with his Ninja gesture after the completion of the 2nd ODI between India and New Zealand in Raipur.
He was seen moving both his hands in tandem post the game and it left Harsha Bhogle bemused who then said on air, “Try and decode that for us." Dravid was also seen imitating a shot.
Dravid's gesture came after the conclusion of the game in Raipur as he was getting done with the customary post-match handshakes. India secured an easy eight-wicket win against New Zealand whose foundation was laid by India's relentless bowling line-up that bowled out the visitors for just a mere total of 108 in 34.3 overs.
Player of the Match Mohammed Shami started off the proceedings for India by striking in the very first over of the match by bowling out opener Finn Allen for a duck. The 32-year-old pacer put strenuous effort to take three wickets in his six overs while conceding 18 runs at the economy of three runs per over.
Vice-captain Hardik Pandya and Washington Sundar took 2 wickets each. While Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Kuldeep Yadav shared a wicket each to their respective tallies.
Skipper Rohit Sharma and the double centurion of the previous match Shubman Gill made the target of 109 look easy with their opening stand of 72 runs. Rohit reached his 48th ODI fifty scoring 51 off 50 including 7 fours and 2 sixes.
Gill remained unbeaten on 40 facing 53 deliveries hitting the winning boundary with Ishan Kishan at the non-striker's end. India chased the target down in 20.1 overs after losing 2 wickets and as a result of the same, they have taken an unassailable lead in the three-match series. The final ODI will be played on 24 January in Indore.
