The IPL 2023 auction was record-breaking, as the three most expensive players in the history of the tournament were sold within 30 minutes. While Sam Curran became the most expensive player in the history of the tournament after being sold to Punjab Kings for a whopping INR 18.50 crore, Cameron Green and Ben Stokes joined him in the list to become the second and third-most expensive players, with their final price of INR 17.50 crore and INR 16.25 crore.

Though the overseas players attracted the highest bids and were the highlight of the auction, the Indian uncapped players were the biggest gainers at the 2023 auction. Bengal’s Mukesh Kumar, whose performances in the domestic setup caught the selector’s eye, was the biggest gainer of the IPL 2023 auction. The bowler, registered at a base price of INR 20 lakh was sold for a whopping INR 5.5 crore to Delhi Capitals, gaining 2750%.

Shivam Mavi comes next on the list, as he ended up gaining 1500%. His bidding started at a base price of INR 40 lakh, and he was eventually roped in by Gujarat Titans for a brilliant INR 6 crore. The third-biggest gainer of the IPL 2023 is Jammu & Kashmir’s Vivrant Sharma, who attracted a deal from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Registered at a base price of INR 20 lakh, SRH signed him for INR 2.6 crore as he gained 1300%.

The star of the IPL 2023 auction- Sam Curran comes fourth in the list with a gain of 925%. A total of six teams fought hard to get him to their side, but in the end, PBKS won the bidding war as the 24-year-old World Cup-winning player was sold for a record-shattering INR 18.50 crore.

Mayank Dagar, another Indian uncapped player from Himachal Pradesh, was signed by SRH for INR 1.8 crore, gaining 900%. Dagar, who made the headlines in 2018 for surpassing Virat Kohli and Mayank Agarwal’s yo-yo test scores, will surely be the one to watch out for this season.
