Ravi Shastri reveals earnings of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni
"Someone like an MS or a Virat or Sachin and his pomp. They would do over 15-20 ads. And it's per day. There is no time," said Shastri.
Former India head coach Ravi Shastri was recent asked about the earnings of some of the country's top cricketers, and his response left everyone stunned. While cricket may not be a global sport in a true sense, it has undoubtedly turned certain players into global icons.
The likes of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Sachin Tendulkar stand tall as some of the most popular and successful cricketers India has ever produced. These legends have amassed immense wealth, not only through their on-field performances but also through lucrative brand endorsements.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan asked Shastri, "What kind of numbers do these superstars in India earn?"
“They earn a lot. A lot through endorsements, for sure and upwards of 100 crores,” said Shastri on Stick To Cricket Podcast.
When he was asked, "Which is how much?"
“Well, which would say 10 million. Yeah Ten Million Pounds. I'd just calculate one hundred rupees as one pound. So you work backwards and you can get upwards of that because," Shastri added.

Shastri even revealed that top stars like Dhoni, Kohli, and Tendulkar could have taken on more advertisements during their prime, but their packed schedules often left little room for additional commitments.
"Someone like an MS or a Virat or Sachin and his pomp. They would do over 15-20 ads. And it's per day. There is no time. You could easily do more because of the amount of cricket being played. So you know they'll do an ad for a year and give us a day," Shastri concluded.
Speaking about the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, England are well on top of the game at the stumps on Day 2 in the fourth Test in Manchester. The openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley guided the hosts through the deficit and brought it down to 133 runs.
They put together a partnership of 166 runs for the first wicket and took control of the game in a couple of sessions. Earlier, India scored 358 with the help of half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan and Rishabh Pant. England skipper Ben Stokes picked up a fifer after eight years to tighten the grip on the visitors.
