The third day of the ongoing Test match between India and England ended on a fiery note as tensions rose between England opener Zak Crawley and the Indian team. With India posting 387 in their first innings, exactly matching England’s total, the match remained level, leaving no first-innings lead for either side.

As England came out to bat with just one over left in the day, they managed to score two runs. Jasprit Bumrah took the new ball for India, but Crawley interrupted his run-up midway during the over, which sparked irritation among the Indian fielders. The visitors were already displeased, suspecting that England was deliberately wasting time to ensure minimal play before stumps.

Crawley added fuel to the fire by walking down the pitch to clean something off the surface between deliveries, further delaying proceedings and making it clear that no additional overs would be bowled on Day 3. This led to an outburst from the Indian players. Indian captain Shubman Gill was heard shouting from the slips, while other fielders also voiced their frustration at Crawley.

Tensions further escalated on the fifth delivery of the over when a full-length ball from Bumrah struck Crawley on the hand as he tried to defend it. Crawley called for the physio, which prompted a sarcastic applause from the Indian side. Gill ran up to Crawley and appeared to make a gesture towards the pavilion. Crawley responded, and England opener Ben Duckett also got involved in the heated exchange.

Eventually, the over was completed with one final delivery before stumps were called. The Indian players walked back upset with the time wasted during that one-over session.

Bumrah led India’s bowling attack brilliantly, finishing with figures of 5/74. In response, India matched England's score, finishing at 387 all out. KL Rahul top-scored with a composed 100, while Rishabh Pant (74) and Ravindra Jadeja (72) played vital supporting roles. Chris Woakes was the most successful bowler for England, claiming three wickets.
