[WATCH] Hundred Men's 2025: Play gets halted after wild fox enters field, video goes viral
The incident took place during the Hundred Men's match between Oval Invincibles and London Spirit at the Lord's Cricket Ground.
During the opening match of The Hundred Men’s 2025 between Oval Invincibles and London Spirit at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, play was halted after a wild fox made a surprising entry on the field.
The match, which was the beginning of this year’s edition of The Hundred, featured international stars like Rashid Khan, Sam Curran, David Warner, Kane Williamson, and Ashton Turner. But midway through the second innings, with the Oval Invincibles chasing a target of 81 runs, a fox suddenly ran onto the field.
The incident occurred just as Daniel Worrall was set to bowl. The animal sprinted across the lush outfield, even passing the Pavilion, before leaping over the advertising hoardings and exiting the ground. The Lord’s crowd gave the fox a thrilling ovation as it made its exit. Commentators, including Stuart Broad, were heard saying, How to catch a fox?

Invincibles outclass Spirit
Before the fox’s entry, the London Spirit, who were batting first, were bundled out for just 80 runs. Despite their solid batting lineup, including the likes of Warner and Williamson, Spirit failed to tackle the Invincibles' bowling attack.
Rashid Khan returned to action after a post-IPL break and bagged three wickets for just 11 runs in his 20-ball spell, running through the Spirit’s middle order. Meanwhile, Sam Curran finished with 3/18. Ashton Turner top-scored for London Spirit with 21, but no other batter could support, leading to an underwhelming total.
In reply, Oval Invincibles chased down the target with 14 balls to spare, winning the match by six wickets. Will Jacks and Tawanda Muyeye began with a steady 34-run stand in 32 balls. Despite losing a few wickets in the middle, the Invincibles chased down the small target. Rashid Khan was named the Player of the Match for his game-changing spell.
"It was nice to get off to a winning start, it was good to perform for the side. (On the reason for his break after the IPL) Physically and mentally to get myself ready for the next competition, IPL is a long tournament, it helped me to think how to prepare going ahead. It was a good surface, there was spin on offer, when I was bowling I was trying to hit the right areas. I mixed things up and it worked out well. (On the importance of experience) It does help a lot, in a competition like this when things happen so quickly, it helps. I haven’t bowled in the last couple of months but the amount of cricket I have played in the last ten years, that really helps," Khan said after the match.
