On the other hand, Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals trounced table toppers Mumbai Indians and are on the cusp of stamping their ticket to the summit clash. A clinical performance against Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. also significantly improved their net run rate (NRR) and momentarily put them in the first place in the standings.
The scenario is such that if Delhi obtains a win and Mumbai lose their fixture to a resurgent Royal Challengers Bangalore, the former will seal their finale berth. However, assuming Mumbai win by a huge margin and Delhi too obtain a result in their favour, the team with a better NRR will sail through.
Delhi Capitals play their final group stage match against UP Warriorz at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The two teams will square off on Tuesday, March 21 as Delhi will seek a result in their favour to book their tickets to the finals of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
