Day 2 of the third Test of the three-match series between West Indies and Australia produced 15 wickets as Australia ended up on 99/6 after 29 overs, currently hold a lead of 181 runs at Sabina Park in Jamaica.

Brandon King's 42-ball stay came to an end after Josh Hazlewood struck with his first over of the day before skipper Roston Chase's first boundary came in the subsequent over. However, the four-pronged Australian attack applied the squeeze quite well from that point onwards.

With the pressure mounting in the middle, Chase succumbed to a delightful delivery by the opposition skipper. Tea was taken with 57 runs scored in 23 overs. The fourth wicket fell a few overs after play resumed as John Campbell, who was rotating the strike quite well, was LBW with West Indies on 82/4.

Beau Webster was brought into the attack for the first time in the 40th over of the innings, an over after the hosts lost their fifth wicket. In the next few overs, Alex Carey dropped a couple of chances. The second one was that of Shai Hope. Hope could not capitalise on the let-off and was bowled off the very next ball by Scott Boland.

The innings ended quite tamely for West Indies as the final four wickets were lost in a span of 30 balls as Dinner was taken with Australia claiming a significant lead of 82 runs. Boland, who was playing his first game of the series, ended up with a three-wicket haul under his belt (3/34 in 13.1 overs).

Sam Konstas' nightmarish series came to an end after the 19-year-old batter was dismissed for a five-ball duck in Australia's second innings. Shamar Joseph's picked up his second wicket of the innings by getting rid of Usman Khawaja for 14 off 21. It was the second time the veteran batter got out to Joseph in the game.

Alzarri Joseph then got Steve Smith (five off 13) to claim his first wicket of the ongoing Test after going wicketless in the first innings. The bouncer barrage worked against the former Australian skipper, whose stumps were disturbed by a fast ball on a slightly fuller length.

There were two clear cut opportunities for West Indies to run Travis Head and Cameron Green out in the 15th and 16th overs, respectively. However, both of those chances were botched. However, West Indies did not have to wait long to send Head back to the shed. A few overs later and a double-wicket blow by Alzarri tilted the tide towards the hosts.

Cummins made his way to the middle after Beau Webster (13 off 18) and Carey (zero off three) departed. Alzarri could have secured his fourth wicket if not for West Indies failing to appeal despite Cummins gloving the ball to the wicketkeeper in the 23rd over.

The remainder of the overs were safely negotiated by Cummins and Green. While Cummins scored only five from 25 balls, he made sure that he was there till the end with Green. On the other hand, Green looked quite confident in his stroke play and ended up unbeaten on 42.
