Delhi Capitals' IPL records and stats at Arun Jaitely Stadium, New Delhi

The Arun Jaitley Stadium is the home to Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Established in 1883 as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, it is the second-oldest functional international cricket stadium in India after Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens. The venue is all set to host its first match of the Indian Premier League 2024 when the local boys take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday, April 20. 

The tournament has reached the halfway point, and Rishabh Pant and Co. will need to make the most of the home advantage for a successful campaign. DC are currently sixth on the table with a resounding six-wicket win over Gujarat Titans (GT) in their last match.

The first match at this ground was between Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals (RR). In a low-scoring affair, the Virender Sehwag-led side won by nine wickets with 29 balls remaining. Openers Gautam Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan scored half-centuries to overcome the target of 130 runs.

The Arun Jaitley Stadium has generally been batting-friendly, with an average first innings score of 163. The pace bowlers are found to have received more assistance on the pitch here than the spinners.  The statistics also show that the team batting second has an advantage at this venue.
