Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, and Mitchell Santner combined together as the New Zealanders finally got off the mark on this tour after defeating India by 21 runs in the first of the three T20 internationals at JSCA Stadium in Ranchi. The action now moves to the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow where both sides will meet in the second T20I on a Super Sunday, January 29, 2023.

In reply, India’s top order failed with the first three batters Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill, and Rahul Tripathi registering single-digit scores.
