Both India and Pakistan have lost their Commonwealth Games campaign openers, as the former lost the first match of the tournament against Australia, and the latter lost the second game of the tournament against Barbados. The two will now clash at the Edgbaston Stadium and look to bag a victory in order to open their account on the Group A points table.

Edgbaston in Birmingham has been named the common ground for all the fixtures of women’s cricket at CWG 2022. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian side will be up against the Bismah Maroof-led Pakistani team. India gave a very tough competition to Australia but lost during the final overs of the game. On the other hand, Barbados defended their total brilliantly and restricted Pakistan from chasing it.

The Women in Blue need to win the remaining two games against Pakistan and Barbados each, in order to make their place in the top 2 of the group, and qualify for the semi-finals. The same is the case with Pakistan, but having lost one game already, and their last game being against World Champions Australia, it is going to be a bigger challenge for them

India would be in great form while walking into the upcoming game because though they lost against Australia, they surely managed to put them in deep trouble. The game was in India’s hands mostly during the second innings as Renuka Thakur bagged four wickets to utilize the pitch offerings to its core. She will be the one to watch out for, apart from Skipper Kaur who is in great touch with the bat.

Here’s a look at how the weather will behave during the IND-W vs PAK-W clash:

The unpredictable English weather has a frequent impact on the outcome of games. If the sky remains overcast, the bowling team will be at a significant advantage because the ball swings more in those conditions. It is an important game for both teams and thus, the fans will hope that the rain doesn’t have much of an impact on the game.

As for the forecast, light rain showers are expected between 10 am to 12 pm local time, and the game is set to begin at 11 am local time. There might be a short delay in the start, but because there is no heavy rainfall predicted by weather.com, a complete game will be seen being played. It will be mostly cloudy in the afternoon.
