Former Irish cricketer Ed Joyce recently came up with a very cheeky tweet post his retirement from international cricket. Joyce retired from all forms of the international cricket with immediate effect on May 24, 2018. The announcement of his retirement came a day right after the big news of AB de Villiers had broke out in the media. AB de Villiers had announced his shock retirement from all forms of international cricket a day earlier. In his cheeky tweet, Ed Joyce funnily tagged AB de Villiers as well. He joked that he is certainly apologetic to AB for stealing ‘his thunder’. This was in reference to his retirement announcement right after the day AB announced his retirement. It is no brainer that the stats reflect how big a star AB has been in the world cricket. Hence, Joyce wasted very little time to mockingly claim that he certainly shared some part of the news headlines alongside the South African great. AB de Villiers is revered as one of the best batsmen of the modern day cricket. On the other hand, Joyce has played a big role for the Irish cricket. He is one of the ten cricketers to have played for two countries in ODIs and is also one among the two players to represent two nations in T20Is. Joyce represented England in 17 ODIs between 2006 and 2007. His major share of contribution came for the Ireland cricket though. He represented Ireland in 78 ODIs and 18 T20Is. Joyce has a top score of 160 in ODIs and is the fifth leading run getter for Ireland in ODI cricket.
