There was a lot of hue and cry for the unavailability of the general category tickets which were priced at Rs 500. A huge number of people waited for hours outside the Gadaffi Stadium to no avail as the tickets for all three World Series T20s were quickly sold out. For fans that are hell bent to watch top-flight cricket return to Pakistan, they will have to shell out more from their pockets to witness history.

A World XI side led by Faf du Plessis will tour Pakistan and play a 3-match T20 series against the Sarfaraz-led side on September 12, 13 and 15 in Lahore. According to PCB, no more coupons of Rs 500 ticket are available at the online centers. But there is still some consolation for the cricket frenzy nation as the higher valued tickets are still up for grabs.

“However, Rs 4,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 8,000 tickets are available for the three matches,” A PCB official told APP.

Rs 4,000 tickets can be bought for the enclosures of Saeed Ahmad, Rajas, Majid Khan, Javed Miandad, Abdul Qadir and A.H. Kardar. Fans willing to spend Rs 2,000 extra can buy enclosures of Imran Khan and Fazal Mahmood. The highest valued ticket of Rs 8,000 is for the enclosures of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis.

For the first T20 on Tuesday, Rs 4,000 and 6,000 tickets are available while all three value tickets are available for the remaining two games.

The PCB has done a commendable job of successfully inviting a World XI to tour the nation which is seen as the start of the return of international cricket in Pakistan. If reports are to be believed, Sri Lanka has agreed to visit Pakistan for a full tour. Incidentally, it was the Sri Lankan team which was attacked in March 2009 which stalled international cricket in Pakistan.
