IPL auction 2020 was in its full swing where franchises lavishly spend big amount on players to rope them in their side for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League. Many players were garnered with a whopping fee and some failed to get a single bid. However, one bid that hogged the spotlight in the auction was of 48-year-old Pravin Tambe, who was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders at his base price of 20 Lakhs. Now, the leggie has come up with his opinion that age can never define a players calibre.

Pravin Tambe, the leg spinner has been the part of Indian Premier League since 2013 and has also got success in his stint. So far in the IPL, Tambe has been the part of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals and Gujrat Lions. In 33 IPL games, Tambe has grabbed a total of 28 wickets with a hat-trick which he took in 2014 against Kolkata Knight Riders. The leg-spinner works as a sports teacher in DY Patil University when he is away from cricket.

Pravin Tambe in a recent interview said that he is still 20-year-old in his mind. He is cherished to be the part of Kolkata Knight Riders and is excited to share his experience with the players and will try to perform to the best of his abilities. The 48-year-old also recited the fact that people will say a lot about him but his work is to perform on the field. Moreover, he never plays to prove anyone because if that was the case then he might have not played for so long.

“I am still a 20-year-old in my mind. People say many things but I keep doing my job and put in a lot of hard work. I will like to do well in whatever role given to me, be it in fielding or bowling. It’s not to prove anything. If that was the case, I could not have played for this long. I’m really excited to play for them,” Pravin Tambe said as quoted by Hindustan Times.

Tame feels obliged to be the part of KKR for the upcoming season. He is thankful for the trust shown by the team management on him and soon he will give them back with some brilliant performances. “KKR must have seen something in me to have bought me. I’m grateful to KKR team management. I want to give them back. If you get the support, you can go a long way,” he added.
