Pakistan have had a torrid time in Australia, especially from the batting point of view. Babar Azam has been their most consistent batter in the Test series, but he hasn’t gotten much support from the others. Mohammad Rizwan and Yasir Shah have indeed chipped in, but their overall batting hasn’t been able to set the cat amongst the pigeons in the Australian camp.

From the Brisbane Test that Pakistan lost by an innings and five runs, Pakistan made a few changes. One of them was replacing Haris Sohail with Imam-ul-Haq. However, it didn’t quite pay dividends as the left-hander could only manage a couple of runs across both innings. While in the first innings, Mitchell Starc got rid of him, Josh Hazlewood nipped him out in the second.

Imam straining in his Test career

Imam’s Test numbers are a tad on the disappointing side. In 11 matches, the southpaw has scored only 485 runs at a dismal average of 25.52. He has a couple of fifties and a few 40s, but overall, he is yet to show consistency. In the meantime, Iceland Cricket decided to take a funny dig at the young Imam. They put forth David Warner’s numbers in the series to mock Imam.

In his last two innings, Warner has scored 489 runs, which included a 335* in the first innings of the Day-Night Test in Adelaide. After Imam got out in the second innings, it was seen that Warner’s runs in the series is more than Imam’s runs in his entire career.

Highlighting the statistics, Iceland Cricket made fun of Imam-ul-Haq. Iceland Cricket took to Twitter and wrote, “David Warner has scored more runs in his last two innings than Imam-ul-Haq has scored in his entire test career.”

Warner was unstoppable in the first innings. He became the seventh Aussie batter with a triple ton in Tests. The New South Wales batsman reached the feat in 389 balls. In fact, he has the second-highest individual score for Australia in Tests after Matthew Hayden. En route his triple century, he also surpassed Don Bradman’s 299* as the highest individual Test score at the Adelaide Oval.
