4 Indian discard players who are shining in IPL10
Such players have shown that they are still capable of performing at the big stage
#3 Shikhar Dhawan
Dhawan had made a grand entry into the Indian squad when he scored 187 runs on his Test debut against Australia in Mohali. He followed that up with a great show in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 where he was the highest run-getter of the tournament with 2 centuries and played a pivotal role in India’s triumph in the big event.
There has been no doubt about the talent of the left-hander but consistency has been the biggest issue in his career. He has failed to perform consistently for India and has had a stop-start career so far. A series of failures and the rise of KL Rahul meant that he was omitted from the squads of all three formats.
But he has done a tremendous job in IPL10 so far and has scored 341 runs in 9 games at an average of 37.89 and a strike rate of 123.1. He has been excellent up the order alongside David Warner and is the second highest run-getter for Sunrisers Hyderabad, just behind the skipper. He would be expecting a call-up in the Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy that follows IPL of which he has happy memories from 4 years back.
