Just a week ago, Mohammed Shami found himself in a situation where his cricket career hangs by a thread after his wife, Hasin Jahan alleged that he had been cheating her with multiple extra-marital affairs and also of domestic violence and attempt to murder. Shami along with his family were charged of multiple offences, all of which are under investigation.

Following the serious allegations against him, the Bengal speedster now finds himself entangled in one of the darkest phases of his life. Apart from the accusations in his personal life, Jahan also hinted that he was capable of match-fixing, which puts his career in further jeopardy. His central contract was already withheld by BCCI and the course of the investigation will further clarify their stand on his participation in IPL too.

The allegations, if proved, might be enough to put an end to Shami’s career forever. The Indian cricketers who are currently in Colombo playing in the Nidahas Trophy seem to have also distanced themselves with Shami. The fast bowler was very recently sharing the dressing room along with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Yuzuvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur and Dinesh Karthik in South Africa. But as it stands for now, the cricketers are tight-lipped on Shami issue here. The cricketers have been briefed by the team management in Colombo to stay away from Shami issue, as reported by Xtratime.

Hasin Jahan has sent the documents related to her complaints against her husband to the BCCI’s Committee of Administrators (CoA) chairman Vinod Rai for a probe into her allegations of corruption, her lawyer said on Thursday. She alleged that Shami had taken money from a Pakistani woman named Alishba on the insistence of an England-based businessman, Mohammad Bhai.

Rai has instructed the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) chief Neeraj Kumar to look into the corruption allegations levelled against Shami by his wife. Meanwhile, Shami’s participation in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 remains uncertain as Delhi Daredevils will await directions from BCCI before taking a call.
