3. Prithvi Shaw

18-year old Prithvi Shaw had his name etched in history when he brought home the U-19 World Cup for India for the fourth time in February 2018. Soon after, he was picked up by the Delhi Daredevils (DD) for INR 1.2 crores and his exciting cricketing abilities have had the fans and critics on tenterhooks ever since. However, very little of him has been seen in the ongoing season of the IPL, with Shaw making his IPL debut only on Monday (April 23) against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).

If Shaw plays 2 or fewer matches by the half-way mark of the IPL 2018, he might pose an interesting option that quite a few teams might be willing to explore during the transfer window transactions. The young Mumbai batsman grabbed eyeballs at a very young age, when he slammed 546 runs in a Mumbai-based Harris Shield elite division match at the school level, eliciting instant comparisons with a young Sachin Tendulkar. Shaw’s scored centuries in debut matches in both the Ranji Trophy as well as the Duleep Trophy. His record of 261 runs in 6 matches in the U-19 World Cup, which beat Virat Kohli and Unmukt Chand to be the most runs scored by an Indian captain in the tournament, is well indicative of the treasure trove of talent that young Shaw is.
