This has been the story of the IPL that it is certain for the uncertain to happen. Known for his exploits with the bat, Rohit Sharma did something unusual from his abilities and helped himself to inflict a hat-trick in the 2009 edition of IPL in a game against his hometown team, Mumbai Indians. It was his natural ability with the ball to bowl off-spin as he later confesses that enabled him to show off his skills with the ball. He was later adjudged man of the match considering his performance with the ball that propelled the team to victory.

Mumbai Indians were in driver’s seat as they required only 43 runs in 26 balls with much batting to come when Rohit bowled one of his magicalal spell to spun a web in Mumbai’s lower middle order. He dismissed Abhishek Nayar and Harbhajan Singh off two consecutive deliveries and later got JP Duminy out on the first ball of the 18th over to complete his hat-trick. He was accurate with his nomuch-knownwn off-spins that made way for the Chargers’ victory.
